Point of View is an installation, an itinerant artwork, born from the desire to bring people closer to art in the places where they live, to demonstrate that, even in times of pandemic, a person can share opinions and thoughts with the others in a “non-virtual mode”. Point of View, made of enamelled stainless steel, allows people to sit down, turn their back on each other or talk to a person face to face, over two meters away, by anti-Covid regulations.
Conceived by Patrizia Pfenninger, Point of View has been exposed in a Tour at the local SBB rail stations thanks to the collaboration with the SBB, committed to supporting art and culture. After the inauguration in Bellinzona, held on May 18th, 2021, it was positioned in Locarno during the summer and at the Lugano train station until mid-December 2021. During the last year (2022), it has been placed on the new square of the Mendrisio rail station and from the 17th of January 2023, Point of View found a place at LaFilanda, the Cantonal Library of Mendrisio, to welcome new dialogues.
Since November 2023, Point of View is at the Erich Lindenberg Art Foundation, where Patrizia continues to be present on the bench to exchange opinions with passers-by.
